Overview

PR Aqua was engaged in 2019 to design a RAS facility for the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC at their Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery to help support the growing need for lake and stream stocking of catchable size trout in the BC lower mainland and Fraser Valley. Goals for the facility are the production of 36,000 spring and 36,000 fall catchables of approximately 225g in size. Construction of the facility began in 2020 and was completed in the summer of 2022.

Scope

PR Aqua provided a complete RAS design and equipment package and post construction system commissioning services. Equipment package included MBBR with process air blowers, LHO’s, UV disinfection, microscreen drum filters, process pumps, PPC, oxygenation, water chilling and heating, chemical dosing, and motor controls.
