The Vaki Micro and Macro fish counters are revolutionary fast fish counters designed to count fry & smolts from 0.2g in size. The Macro Fish Counter is especially effective when delivering large amounts of fish for transport by helicopter, truck or wellboat. The smaller Micro Fish Counter is ideal for the internal handling of smaller fish or delivering fry for transport. Both fish counters can be supplied with multiple channels for counting directly from a fish grader.
Each Vaki fish counter is based on a scanning camera and computer vision. The fish are carried gently in water through the scanning area where the outlines are recorded. Custom designed software is used to analyze and count each image. Even at maximum capacity the Vaki fish counter maintains accuracy levels exceeding 98%.

How It Works
|
Fish are pumped or netted into the dewatering area of the fish counter and then pass across a lighted surface. A line scanning video camera sees the fish as it passes over the light and records the silhouette image. The fish then exit the fish counter and travel to their next destination.
The touch pad screen on the fish counter head is used to operate the fish counter. The main screen of the program displays the total count and batch count. In multi channel mode the number in each size group is also displayed. A graph shows the rate of fish going through the fish counter and the maximum capacity. Should the maximum limit be exceeded a warning signal is given.
After each fish count an image file and a report file are saved. The files can be displayed on screen, transferred onto CD, memory stick or to an internal network via the connection ports on the counting head.
