How It Works

The PR Aqua Vacuum Degasser is an open bottom column designed to be installed in a header tank containing water to a required depth. Water enters the vessel through a sealed top, cascading down inside the vessel. The vacuum pump or blower creates a lower pressure within the vessel thereby releasing gases from the water and releasing them to atmosphere. The stripped water is discharged into the header tank ready for further treatment if necessary.

  • Easy to install as a retrofit or in a new system
  • Vacuum obtained by either a regenerative blower or vacuum pump
  • Degasser vessel can be constructed of stainless steel, aluminum, fibreglass (or even concrete with metal fittings)
  • The orifice plate can be designed to overflow if it becomes fouled
  • A sight tube provides easy measurement of vacuum level within vessel
  • Oxygen can be added to adjust gas balance to make it suitable for culturing fish
