How It Works
|
Ultraviolet disinfection works by producing electromagnetic energy from a mercury arc lamp and penetrating the cell wall of the pathogen damaging the genetic material of an organism (RNA and DNA) and destroying the ability to reproduce. UV inactivates almost all organisms that are a threat to fish including IHN, whirling disease, frunculosis, and hundreds of other viruses, bacteria and parasites.
