PR Aqua offers both types of oxygen generators – Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) and Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA).  The two types of generators differ primarily in how gas is driven through the media bed: by pressure or by vacuum.  A gas compressor is an integral part of PSA technology, and the resultant delivery pressure is higher.  VSA units eliminate the compressor, reducing mechanical complexity, but deliver the gas at a greatly reduced pressure.  PR Aqua can provide generators to meet you or your consultant’s specifications, or we can help you select the generator technology which bests suits your application.

How It Works

Both PSA and VSA oxygen generators essentially operate on the same principle.  Atmospheric air is passed through a bed of granular zeolite.  While oxygen passes through the media, nitrogen and other gas molecules are adsorbed by the zeolite. The oxygen-enriched product gas (~90 percent purity) passes through to a receiver tank for distribution, while the nitrogen is periodically purged from the zeolite bed back into the atmosphere.
