A Low Head Oxygenator (LHO™) is a patented device used to efficiently supersaturate aquaculture system water with oxygen without experiencing the high head requirements that are characteristic of other oxygenation equipment. PR Aqua is a licensed manufacturer of LHO™'s.

How It Works
|
Water with a low dissolved oxygen concentration is distributed across an orifice plate at the top of the LHO™. The droplets fall evenly into chambers beneath where the oxygen (and/or ozone) gas is injected at one side of the vessel and passes through each chamber in series. Oxygen is driven into the water while nitrogen is forced out. The LHO™ must be submerged in water to a specified depth. The freshly oxygenated water flows out the open bottom of the LHO™ into the supply header tank ready for further treatment or the culture tanks. The oxygen depleted gas mixture escapes by bubbling out the burp tube.
